Designing ground improvement using PVD and preloading, pavements of container terminal, road pavement. Construction supervision of ground improvement and pavements
Project Description: Construction of jetty, retaining wall, container terminal, road, and another related facility for operating jetty and container terminal.
Achievement:
The container terminal of Mongla Port needs to be built on 10-20 m thick variable soft clay. Various options of ground improvement have been designed, costs of all the alternative options are compared. Considering construction time and construction cost, PVD with preloading was adopted as a ground improvement technique for the project.
